South Asia Requests

 I leave for South Asia in less that two weeks. I was going to keep a blog, but its hard to make time, as you know. Still... I thought I'd jot a few thoughts down here, and specific prayer requests. 

Pray that my heart would be prepared for anything the Lord wants to do, however He wants to use us while we're there. I don't want to just be boxed into the role of teacher as we lead lessons in Masterlife Together. Do pray that we would lead well, I have to teach for an hour on each weeks worth of lessons, and I've got a lot of preparing to do, and not a lot of time! But, I'd love the chance to just pray with the women there, and even pray for healing - wouldn't that be cool if a miracle or two happened? I am partial fasting right now, more for my spiritual warfare issues, but I hope it will build my spirit man and equip me for trusting God for miracles. We'll see what happens, but pray that God will show up in a mighty way and surprise all of us for His glory. 

John the Baptist preached, prepare ye the way for the Lord. That's what I want to preach as well. I know we'll be ministering more to Christians there, but it is a good reminder to get rid of the clutter of life, the idols we're clinging to, the secret sins that need to come to the light, the distractions of social media, and make way for God to move. With all of those things in the way, we wonder why we don't see God move, but we've left Him no margin in our lives to do much of anything. But, God in his mercy and grace can come and sweep away all this clutter in our hearts for us, if we let Him, if we invite Him to do so. The Holy Spirit wants to take us to deeper levels of communing with Him. We need to be caught in the Spirit, to see God in his glory and what He's doing all around us. That's really what fasting is about, it's a sacrifice of praise, something we get to do to show God He is worth more to us that even the food we eat. I think it's okay to have someone hold you accountable to fast, so you aren't as tempted to give it up too soon, but you don't do it for show. But also sometimes we need to encourage others to fast by sharing that we practice fasting ourselves, even if we don't say specifically when we're fasting. We may offer to fast together with someone for accountability and encouragement. But Jesus does expect us to fast. 

You can pray that all the details would come together as well. Logistically speaking I mean. But that that wouldn't distract us from the real purpose we're going. 

Please pray that my mom would be provided for financially. 

I think... this may be my final blog post here, with the exception of telling my new one in the future. I know its crazy to keep up with new blogs, but I do realize that people will think I'm insane reading this one, so I need one that's a bit more toned down. 

Last... I've committed in my mind to actually change memberships of churches. Where I'm at is not where I'm going, or where I need to be. There are some friends who won't understand why I'm leaving. But, it's past time for me to go. 

Oh, one more. i've been under attack by you know what, and it's keeping me up so late, I'm not sleeping enough, and that's not good - puts me at risk for going manic, falling asleep at the wheel, never hearing sermons... being a sleep walking zombie... I need to be refreshed before and during this trip, a supernatural refreshing while I'm there because it's going to be packed.
